Aldergrove Truck Parking Lot Site Prep

The Site Challenge

The site needed to become a functional commercial truck parking area without sending runoff toward 8th Avenue, 272nd, nearby farmland or offsite ditches.

Because the project was on ALR land and there was no nearby municipal storm main for a simple tie-in, drainage, erosion control and consultant coordination were central to the work.

What New Wave Built

• Loaded out more than 285 truck-and-transfer loads of soil.
• Imported structural material, regraded the site and prepared the subgrade for curb and asphalt.
• Installed and coordinated storm servicing, septic field work, water connections from wells, site grading and other civil services.
• Built an onsite retention pond with oil separation and filtration so site drainage stayed controlled onsite.
• Completed landscaping, planting and irrigation as part of the finishing scope.

Coordination and Controls

• Worked from engineered plans and required elevations, including pipe grades and the pond tie-in elevation.
• Coordinated with environmental, engineering and geotechnical consultants.
• Used ESC measures to manage erosion and sediment during construction.
• Supported inspections and checks from the Township of Langley and project consultants.
• Geotechnical review checked backfill, compaction, pipe support and asphalt subgrade readiness.

Outcome

The finished site was prepared as a private commercial truck parking development with controlled onsite drainage, engineered grades, installed services and a ready-to-pave surface.
